You can set up custom roles to manage access and permissions based on your needs. For example, you can control who can create labels by assigning specific permissions to a custom role. Here’s how to do it:
Steps to Create Custom Roles
-
Log in to the DAM - use your login credentials to access your DAM account.
-
Go to the User Section - navigate to the "User" section in the hub, tab "Roles". This is where you can manage user access and permissions.
**You will need an Owner, Administrator or Manager User Role in order to see this page. - You have 2 ways how to create a new custom role - from scratch and duplicating an existing role (for example "Administrator") and just deselecting some of its permissions.
-
creating a new role from scratch:
- Click on "+Add Profile" and select the scope of the new role:
- if "Company" is selected, then the new custom role will apply to all tokens (projects) of the company
- if "Project" is selected, the new role will be available only for the current project
- Name the new custom role and set permissions - if you want to restrict the user to not be able to create labels, then leave "DAM" -> "Labels (read) -> "Labels (write)" as unchecked.
a complete list of the permissions descriptions can be found here.
- Click on "+Add Profile" and select the scope of the new role:
-
modifying an existing role:
- select the ... icon next to an existing role that you would like to restrict to not create labels
- choose "duplicate as a new profile"
- give a meaningful name of the new role
- go to "DAM" -> "Labels (read)" -> "Labels (write)" and deselect this option
-
creating a new role from scratch:
- Save the changes
