When you use Cloudimage / DMO to optimise your image and video data, the URLs of your files appear like this by default:
https://token.cloudimg.io/my-domain/path/image.jpg
In this URL, the token is a unique 10-character identifier (e.g., abcdefghij) that links to your Cloudimage / DMO account.
Although it's not possible to edit a token directly, you can replace it with a custom CNAME.
What is a CNAME?
A CNAME is a DNS record that maps one domain name (an alias) to another (the canonical name).
Example of token replacement
Here's how this change looks:
-
URL with a Cloudimage / DMO token:
https://ahfxxxyz.cloudimg.io/my-domain.com/path/image.jpg -
When the token is replaced by a CNAME:
https://media.my-domain.com/path/image.jpg
Supported plans
The Cloudimage / DMO plans PRO, ROCKET, and ENTERPRISE allow you to request a CNAME to replace your token.
How to request a CNAME
If you would like to request a CNAME for your token, please contact us at hello@scaleflex.com and mention the following details:
- Your Cloudimage / DMO token
- The requested CNAME (e.g., media.my-domain.com, images.my-domain.com, cdn.my-domain.com, etc.)
